Make a shoebox pledge!
Shoeboxes from Operation Christmas Child mean so much to the
children who receive them. Like the boy at left, many of the gift
recipients live in poverty, and the shoeboxes bring hope and
happiness into their lives.
I will consider this run
a success if Operation Christmas Child receives even a handful of
shoeboxes in addition to last year's total. But my hope and prayer
is that God will do something special for the children through this
run across North Dakota.
Please spread the word about Operation Christmas Child among your
family, friends, co-workers, community groups and church.
If there is not a collection site set up in your community, take the
lead in
organizing an event in your town. If you are not sure if there
is a drop-off point in your town,
find the collection spot closest to you.
If you will support my run by
contributing shoeboxes, I want to hear from you!
Please e-mail me
wwmitzel@hotmail.com so I
can track the number of shoeboxes pledged. I will list your first name, city and state on our pledge
page to recognize your contribution and to encourage others to
participate. I will also e-mail you a reminder when the shoebox
collection week approaches.
Take the 360 challenge for
your group!
I will be running 360 miles across North Dakota, so I challenge your
civic group or church to match my efforts by assembling one shoebox
for each mile I run. If you plan to do this, please e-mail me at
wwmitzel@hotmail.com so we
can list your group on the Web site as a 360 Challenge participant.
